Community Awareness: As the name suggests, our Community Awareness events are designed to raise awareness within Christian communities about abusive relationships of all kinds. Our 2017 conference explored the dynamics of Domestic Violence, the trauma that occurs in child sexual abuse, the importance of shedding shame, and the church’s responsibility to lead the way in standing up against oppression. We shared stories from multiple survivors throughout the course of the day. Videos from that conference are available here.
Breakout Sessions: On a semi-yearly basis we offer events designed to provide ongoing education about abuse related topics such as red flags in dating relationships, how to be “safe” friends for survivors, what constitutes a healthy relationship, and when to submit a police report, Local people are welcome to attend these smaller events; and the breakout video library can be accessed here.
Awareness in Ministry (or AIM) Events are specifically for church leaders and counselors. Our goal for these events is to provide in-depth education for those on the front lines of responding to abuse within the church. Our first AIM event was held in the fall of 2018, and focused on how pastors and church counselors should understand and respond to Domestic Violence. Those videos are available to interested church leaders or counselors by request.
